Job summary

Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County is seeking an energetic Leisure Services staff member to assist in planning, developing and evaluating community programs. The role oversees daily activities, handles program registration, and supports front desk operations while coordinating outreach and promotional efforts.

The position supports staff during large events, maintains records and communications, and ensures programs run smoothly with safe and engaging activities for all ages.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with one year of recreational programming or related experience.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be certified in First Aid/CPR or able to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing and evaluating community programs and events.
• Coordinate outreach calendars, design and promote programs.
• Maintain records, reports, flyers and promotional materials.
• Instruct classes and manage supplies and equipment.
• Coordinate volunteers and assist with facility operations and events.
• Manage social media, e-newsletters and front desk duties as needed.
• Transport participants to activities and enforce facility rules.
