Job summary

The Athens-Clarke County Government's Leisure Services Department seeks a qualified professional to plan, develop, supervise, and evaluate programs at Heard Park Community Center. You will organize activities, train staff, coordinate publicity, and ensure safety for participants and facilities.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least one year of related experience; supervisory experience and First Aid/CPR certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a field related to leisure services or recreation.
• Experience planning, coordinating and evaluating programs is preferred.
• Supervisory experience and knowledge of safety practices are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, conducts and evaluates programs, events, camps and/or tournaments.
• Supervises, trains, hires, evaluates staff, volunteers, and interns; directs work and counsels workers.
• Oversees instructors and contract labor; manages program publicity and promotion.
• Prepares objectives and action plans; maintains records for reporting and assessment.
• Coordinates facility scheduling, safety, and maintenance for programs and events.
• Serves as liaison to community groups and responds to inquiries and concerns.
