Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Community Center Program Assistant in Royal Oak, MI to support all community center programs and related office tasks. You will assist visitors, clients and staff, and serve as the main resource for program guidance when the Director is away.

Responsibilities include helping ensure participant well-being, maintaining clean facilities, serving meals, and complying with safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School diploma/GED desired or equivalent experience.
• Training and/or education in youth programming, ministry and/or social services preferred.
• Training and/or education in food service operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care and well-being of program participants.
• Identify and meet participants' needs and provide guidance.
• Provide friendly hospitality to those served.
• Guide groups/individuals in activity plans and enforce safety procedures.
• Clean and maintain program areas; assist with meal service as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
