Job summary

Thomasville Housing Authority seeks a Community Center Program Director to manage daily operations of the Life Skills Center, develop and oversee programs, and foster strong community relations. The role requires strategic thinking, leadership, and deep understanding of community engagement and development.

The director will coordinate with partners, manage budgets, evaluate program effectiveness, and enhance community life through outreach events, flyers, calendars, and newsletters.

Qualifications

• Proven work experience as a Community Director or similar role.
• Experience in managing community-based programs.
• Understanding of budgeting, reporting, and program evaluation methods.
• Exceptional communication and public speaking skills.
• Familiarity with social media management and other digital communication tools.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with diverse groups and communities.
• Excellent communication and networking skills.
• Experience managing and executing community engagement strategies.
• Bachelor's degree in public relations, community development, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing program goals and objectives that align with the organization’s mission.
• Coordinating with community partners to design programs and initiatives that meet the needs of the community.
• Managing the budget for community programs and initiatives.
• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of programs and making improvements as needed.
• Developing strategies to increase community engagement and participation in programs.
• Working closely with volunteers and community partners to ensure programs are executed effectively.
• Building relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and other organizations to collaborate on community programs.
• Coordinating community outreach events.
• Develop and create flyers, calendars, newsletters; etc.
• Organize community events and activities.
• Ensuring programs meet legal and ethical standards.
• Proficient in both written and verbal communication, capable of engaging with diverse populations.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends (when needed).
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
