Job summary

The Salvation Army seeks a Program Assistant to support the Director of Social Services or the Community Program Coordinator in implementing, conducting and supervising Community Center programs for children and adults to enhance emotional, physical and spiritual well‑being.

The role involves assisting with programs such as Community Kitchen, showers and laundry services, fostering relationships with participating families, enforcing safety rules and maintaining orderly facilities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing, conducting and supervising Community Center programs for children and adults.
• Help build relationships with parents and children participating in programs.
• Enforce facility safety regulations and emergency procedures.
• Maintain order in the Community Center and enforce conduct rules.
• May open/close the community center.
• Safeguard equipment and supplies.
• Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of the facility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
