Job summary

Centerstone in Kirksville, MO seeks a Prevention Project Specialist to support Northeast Missouri communities. You will collaborate with coalitions and partners to identify needs, design prevention strategies, secure funding, and implement initiatives that improve community wellness.

You will guide coalition development, provide training, analyze data, and prepare reports while traveling across the region. This role emphasizes collaboration, impact, and evidence-based practice in public health

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field or a bachelor’s with 1 year of social services/public health experience.
• Must obtain Missouri Substance Abuse Prevention Associate (MSAPA) within 6 months.
• Complete Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist Training (SAPST) within 9 months.
• Must be able to travel within the service area and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead community coalitions and prevention partners as the primary point of contact.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and technical assistance to coalition development.
• Help identify priorities and develop prevention initiatives.
• Assist coalitions with grant writing, planning, and implementation.
• Connect communities with evidence-based prevention programs and resources.
• Gather and analyze data to inform preventive decisions and measure impact.
