Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Community/Retail Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team at Baptist Health Hardin Pavilion, Elizabethtown, KY. The role centers on patient care within a busy community pharmacy setting.

You will fill and dispense prescriptions, enter orders, update patient information, process transactions, and coordinate home prescription delivery under pharmacist supervision. Strong teamwork and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency is required.
Previous retail pharmacy experience preferred.
Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB) preferred.
Kentucky Board of Pharmacy registration required before or on date of hire.

Responsibilities

Performs filling and dispensing of community prescriptions with patient-focused service.
Performs computer order entry, updates patient information, fills and labels prescriptions, and completes transactions at the point of sale.
Delivers medications to discharging patients per Pharmacist's requests.
Completes prescription refills under direct pharmacist supervision.
Assists with scheduling and coordinating home delivery for prescriptions.
Assists in inventory management processes, including order review, inventory returns, restocking shelves, and physical inventory preparation.
Performs simple nonsterile compounding per current USP guidelines and as permitted by state law under direct supervision of a pharmacist.
Assists in training new staff when assigned.
Escalates identified problems or patient complaints to the Pharmacist.
Attends and contributes to meetings and committees as assigned.
