Baptist Health Louisville is seeking a full-time Retail Pharmacy Technician I to support the Pharmacist and Pharmacy Manager in serving customers and maintaining the Community Pharmacy at Baptist Health Louisville.

The role includes filling and dispensing prescriptions, computer order entry, labeling, and POS transactions, plus coordinating home delivery and assisting with inventory. It emphasizes teamwork, safety, and compliance with USP and state laws.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency is required.
• Registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy (KY hospitals) within 30 days of hire date if a new registrant; if already registered, must have registration upon hire.
• Previous retail pharmacy work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Filling and dispensing community prescriptions including computer order entry, updating patient information, labeling prescriptions, and completing POS transactions.
• Delivery of medications to discharging patients as requested by Pharmacist.
• Prescriber outreach for prescription refills under direct pharmacist supervision.
• Assist with scheduling and coordinating home delivery for prescriptions.
• Assist in inventory management including order review, returns, restocking shelves, and inventory prep.
• Maintain pharmacy department cleanliness and order.
• Perform simple nonsterile compounding under direct pharmacist supervision per USP guidelines.
• Assist in training new staff when assigned.
• Escalate problems or patient complaints as needed.
• Attend and contribute to meetings and committees as assigned.
• Complete other duties as assigned by Pharmacist or Community Pharmacy Manager.
