Job summary

Wisconsin Park and Recreation Association in Wisconsin is seeking a Parks & Recreation Supervisor to oversee community events and programs in Brown Deer. The role includes planning, registration coordination, staffing, budgeting, and ensuring safe, engaging activities across parks and facilities.

You will supervise seasonal staff, manage program budgets, handle registrations, and coordinate with multiple partners to deliver quality recreation services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience as a parks and recreation supervisor.
• Preferred but not required: Lifeguard Training & CPR for Professional Rescuer, Water Safety Instruction and Lifeguard Instructor (LGI).
• Must have a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License.
• Knowledge of recreation programming, aquatic operations, facility and park maintenance, supervision and administration.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with the public and co-workers.
• Ability to work overtime, evening and weekend hours as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, conducts and supervises various athletic and recreational programs, activities and events.
• Coordinates and conducts registration and reservations for events/activities.
• Coordinates and conducts rental reservations including tours, payments, refunds, and staff coordination.
• Maintains inventory of equipment, supplies and materials.
• Operates equipment and tools associated with department programs.
• Communicate with supervisors, departments, volunteers, coaches, vendors, and community members.
• Recruits, hires, trains, schedules and supervises seasonal and part-time staff.
• Assists with program budgets, revenue projections, expenditure tracking, and fee collection.
• Respond to questions or complaints and initiate problem resolution.
• Provide supervisory/administrative support in the absence of leadership.
• Other duties as assigned.
