City of Shoreline seeks a Parking Enforcement Officer to ensure parking compliance across the city, both in neighborhoods and commercial areas. You will interact with residents and visitors, issue citations, and support related enforcement efforts in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires dependable, customer-focused service, strong knowledge of parking regulations, and the ability to work independently outdoors, often in varying weather conditions. Training and background checks apply.

Competenze

• Minimum of one year job-related experience; prior law enforcement background preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; specialized training in customer service or code enforcement.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record; ability to obtain required certifications; CJIS background check and polygraph.
• Ability to work outdoors, enforce regulations, read codes, and interact professionally with the public.

Mansioni

• Promote parking compliance by enforcing regulations and municipal codes, in vehicle or on foot.
• Use tire marking devices or license plate readers to monitor time-limited parking areas.
• Locate, respond to, and abate abandoned vehicles per state/local rules; issue citations as needed.
• Provide testimony in Municipal Court related to citations and abandoned vehicles.
• Maintain reports and records; enter data in citation databases; prepare documentation for hearings.
• Serve as liaison between Police Department and residents/businesses on parking issues.
