Job summary

BJC Independence Center is seeking a Community Outreach Case Worker to support adults with serious mental illness in the St. Louis area. The role involves daily field work, connecting clients to housing, food assistance, and other community resources, and documenting service delivery accurately.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's in Human Services or related field. Training in motivational interviewing is provided; local travel with your own vehicle is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field.
• Experience with community-based services is a plus.
• Training in motivational interviewing will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide community support services to adults with serious mental illness.
• Document services timely with details of intervention and outcomes.
• Contact and re-engage clients after missed appointments; support crisis cases.
• Mentor and support junior community workers through job shadowing.
