Job summary

The Salvation Army in Kansas seeks a Music Program Leader to plan and implement a music program for the corps and the broader community, teaching theory, performance skills, and values. Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in music preferred, or extensive experience teaching music.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years’ music experience working with children/adults. Performance experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead music and arts programs within the corps; plan weekly music classes and curriculum.
  • Plan and attend recitals; prep corps music programs for year‑end concert.
  • Encourage participants to set goals and develop musical skills and self‑esteem.
  • Support community awareness of the Corps through music performances.
  • Encourage participation in summer camps and divisional music camps.
