Job summary

The Salvation Army in Kansas seeks a Music Program Leader to plan and implement a music program for the corps and the broader community, teaching theory, performance skills, and values. You will lead music and arts classes, develop weekly curricula, and coordinate activities that align with the corps’ mission.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in music or have extensive teaching experience, with at least two years working with children or adults.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in music preferred, or extensive experience teaching music.
• Experience: A minimum of two years’ music experience working with children/adults. Performance experience is preferred.
• Certifications/Licenses: None

Responsibilities

• Lead music and arts programs within the corps; plan weekly music classes and curriculum.
• Plan and attend recitals; prep corps music programs for year‑end concert.
• Encourage participants to set goals and develop musical skills and self‑esteem.
• Support community awareness of the Corps through music performances.
• Encourage participation in summer camps and divisional music camps.
