Job summary

Citi in Vernon Hills, IL, is seeking an entry-level Mortgage Community Lending Officer to drive mortgage sales and client relationships with community clients, real estate agents, and affordable housing partners. You will originate residential real estate loans while collaborating with Retail Mortgage teams and local partners, visiting clients outside Citi offices and expanding the referral network.

Qualifications include 3+ years of mortgage sales experience, established realtor and nonprofit

Qualifications

• Residential Mortgage experience required.
• 3+ years previous mortgage sales experience required.
• Established relationships with diverse realtor organizations and affordable lending nonprofits in origination territory.
• Experience with community loan products including LMI mortgage solutions and assistance programs.
• FHA/VA & conventional loan experience preferred.
• Ability to explain financial calculations and pricing alternatives.
• Knowledge of consumer lending laws and RESPA.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers about financial situations and lending needs to achieve home ownership goals.
• Collect and analyze financial information including income, assets, debts, and credit history.
• Assess whether customers and properties may qualify for lending solutions.
• Recommend lending solutions meeting customers' objectives.
• Promote Citi’s lending and financial services to partners and clients.
• Coordinate with operations to transfer loan applications and gather required documents.
• Work with processors, closers, and customers to facilitate timely loan closings.
• Develop referral networks with realtors, CPAs, builders, and other partners.
