Job summary

Boston, MA-based M&T Bank Corporation is seeking a Mortgage Banker to originate loans in CRA-focused communities.

Qualifications

• Associates degree and 2 years sales experience, or a combined minimum of 4 years higher education and/or relevant work experience with at least 2 years in sales.
• Knowledge of residential mortgage products and CRA-related lending practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Works independently to originate mortgage loans and cultivate new business.
• Markets and promotes the bank's mortgage products and CRA-related offerings.
• Travel to and visit prospective customers' homes or business locations as needed.
• Interviews applicants to collect income, assets and credit data and assess creditworthiness.
• Determines suitable loan programs and advises on advantages, disadvantages of options.
• Ensures compliance with origination procedures and regulatory requirements.
