Job summary

CentroMed in San Antonio, TX seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians with examinations and nursing procedures, ensuring adherence to departmental policies and quality patient care. The role involves patient history intake, immunizations, venipuncture, and assisting in procedures, with travel to other CentroMed sites as needed.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and completed Medical Assisting Program, plus 1 year clinic experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and completion of Medical Assisting Program.
• 1 year experience in a clinic or hospital setting preferred.
• Must deliver excellent customer service and maintain professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Intake: takes patient history, vital signs, and documents in the medical record.
• Administers patient immunizations following clinical protocols and provider's instructions.
• Administers medications and treatments ordered by the provider.
• Maintains lab duties including daily quality checks and sample processing per infection control guidelines.
• Travels to other CentroMed sites to carry out duties.
• Assists the provider in specialized examinations and treatments as directed.
• Keeps inventory for the supply room and supports the LVN Nurse Supervisor.
