Job summary

CentroMed is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians with examinations, prepare rooms, and carry out nursing procedures in our community health centers across San Antonio and surrounding areas.

You will take patient histories, administer immunizations, venipuncture, and assist with procedures while upholding infection control and patient-centered care. We offer comprehensive benefits and a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and completion of Medical Assisting Program.
• 1 year experience in a clinic or hospital setting preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history, vital signs, and document in medical records.
• Administer immunizations following protocols.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Prepare treatment room and stock supplies.
• Perform routine lab duties and equipment sanitation.
• Travel to Centro Del Barrio sites as needed.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Maintain inventory for the supply room.
• Perform venipuncture as ordered.
• Follow infection control and safety policies.
• Participate in Quality Improvement activities.
• Perform other duties as required.
