Salvation Army Eastside Corps in Bellevue, WA is seeking a full-time Meal Program Coordinator to organize the meal program, manage volunteers, and oversee kitchen operations. You will interact with volunteers and meal providers via face-to-face, phone, and email interactions, ensuring a positive and professional image.

The role requires strong organization, communication, and teamwork, with responsibilities ranging from food donations to reporting and ensuring Health Department compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• Ability to work with limited or no supervision.
• Ability to work with other staff and volunteers.
• Fluent English to communicate with volunteers and clients.

• Must have good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the dining room for the weeknight meal program.
• Greet volunteers who provide and serve the meals.
• Assist with the set-up, serving, and cleanup as requested by the lead meal provider.
• Greet, count, and direct clients as needed.
• Temperature check, weigh and log food donations.
• Maintain hard copy and electronic filing system for clients and volunteers.
• Maintain client files and records as required in WellSky.
• Timely and accurate reporting of monthly and yearly stats to programs and agencies.
• Maintain Health Department Regulations.
• Nightly walk-through kitchen to dump out any food in refrigerators.
• Monitor participants, volunteers, and meal providers to ensure rules are followed.
• Clean tables and chairs, sweep and mop after each meal.
• Empty trashcans and recycle receptacles as needed.
• Pick up donations from various locations.
• Sort donations and distribute to clients as available.
• Keep area clean and orderly; eliminate safety hazards.
• Schedule and communicate with Meal Program Providers and Volunteers via email/phone/text/mail.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and conferences as recommended by the Commanding Officer.
• Conduct assessments to determine service relevance.
• Assist with budget input for social service activities within approved lines.
• Follow fiscal policies of Eastside Corps.
