Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a part-time dining services assistant to support community dining, deliver meals, and package meals for delivery. You will serve as the first point of contact for customer relations, promoting a welcoming atmosphere and coordinating meal events.

The role involves coordinating daily meal service for homebound seniors, managing volunteers, maintaining records, and engaging with diners and volunteers to enhance service impact.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of full-time equivalent experience in group leadership activities and working with older adults in a host/hostess role or comparable food service experience.
• Creativity and knowledge of public relations to create a positive image of the agency.
• Outgoing, well organized and capable of building relationships with community organizations.
• Experience with basic computer applications is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily meal service operations to ensure timely delivery of nutritious meals to homebound seniors or vulnerable adults.
• Manage volunteer scheduling, training, and retention to maintain efficient meal distribution and positive client experiences.
• Maintain accurate client and volunteer records, meal counts, and program documentation.
• Conduct client outreach, identify unmet needs and connect clients with community resources.
• Collaborate with community partners, healthcare providers, and local agencies to expand services.
• Assist with dining events to engage with the community.
• Monitor food safety standards and ensure compliance with sanitation and health regulations.
• Resolve client and volunteer concerns promptly, fostering strong relationships and satisfaction.
