Job summary

Essex seeks a Community Manager to oversee every aspect of a standalone California community, supervise on-site staff, and manage the property budget. You will lead a on-site team and report to the Director of Community Management, ensuring strong resident service and financial performance.

Responsibilities include improving operations, handling vendor relations, and pursuing revenue opportunities while maintaining compliance with Fair Housing and other regulations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of property management experience or related management experience.
• Proven ability to supervise staff of two or more associates.
• Prior sales, marketing and customer service experience.
• Knowledge of budgets and financial statements and ability to work within budgeted guidelines.
• Proven organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial, sales, marketing, maintenance, and administrative operations of a standalone community.
• Lead on-site team and report to the Director of Community Management.
• Maintain the highest level of customer service for prospects, residents, vendors, and Essex departments.
• Manage expenses closely and within budget, communicate any overages in advance and actively pursuing expense savings.
• Oversee and support the collection process, ensuring delinquency is maintained within company targets.
