Job summary

Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants is seeking a Community Manager to lead the strategic development and daily management of our online member communities. You will foster meaningful member interaction, knowledge sharing, and peer networking while aligning activities with TXCPA's goals.

Partner with internal teams and volunteers to drive engagement, manage content, and ensure an inclusive, high-value member experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, PR, or related field.
  • 3+ years in community management, member engagement, or related fields.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using data and analytics to measure performance.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 apps and web collaboration tools.
  • Project management experience with cross-functional leadership.
  • Ability to work independently with teams.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:Responsible for the strategic development, day-to-day management, and continuous improvement of TXCPA's online member communities. This position serves as the primary steward of community engagement, fostering meaningful member interaction, knowledge sharing, peer-to-peer support, and professional networking. The Community Manager partners with internal departments, volunteer leaders, and subject matter experts to ensure community initiatives align with TXCPA's strategic goals, enhance member value, support retention and growth, and create an inclusive and engaging member experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Community Strategy and Planning

Develop and execute a comprehensive community engagement strategy aligned with TXCPA's organizational objectives and member needs.

Maintain a content and engagement calendar that supports membership, advocacy, education, and virtual networking.

Community Engagement and Content Management

Foster meaningful member participation through discussions, webinars, member spotlights, polls, Q&A sessions, and other engagement initiatives.

Collaborate with Membership, Learning, Marketing, Government Affairs, and other departments to source relevant content and subject matter experts.

Work with the Marketing and Communications team to promote community resources and discussions.

Moderation, Governance and Member Support

Develop, maintain, and enforce community guidelines, moderation policies, and escalation procedures.

Respond to member inquiries and coordinate timely responses from volunteer subject matter experts or staff, when needed.

Volunteer and Ambassador Engagement

Recruit, train, and support volunteer leaders, ambassadors, and highly engaged community contributors.

Develop recognition programs that encourage volunteer participation and member engagement.

Provide resources and guidance to help volunteers effectively support community activities.

Analytics, Reporting and Continuous Improvement

Monitor, analyze and report community performance metrics, including participation, engagement, content utilization, and member activity.

Leverage analytics and member feedback to improve community programs, onboarding experiences, and engagement strategies

Identify emerging member needs and communicate insights to internal stakeholders.

Platform Administration and Process Management

Administer and optimize online community platforms and related technologies.

Configure and maintain automated engagement campaigns, user journeys, recognition programs, and communication workflows.

Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, public relations, or a related field.

Three or more years of experience in community management, member engagement, association management, customer success, membership services, digital engagement, or a related field.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience using data and analytics to measure performance and guide decision-making.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and web-based collaboration tools.

Project management experience and a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

PREFERRED BACKGROUND:

Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential or experience working within a professional association, membership organization, or nonprofit environment.

Experience administering community and association management platforms.

Experience developing volunteer leadership or member engagement programs.

Experience creating and executing content, engagement, and communication campaigns.

Understanding of the accounting profession or related professional services industries.
