Job summary

Carter-Haston is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our onsite team in Burlington, NC. You will assist in maintaining grounds, common areas, and apartment homes, delivering prompt service with respect to residents and staff.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, safety compliance, and timely completion of service requests, while supporting budget goals and keeping the property in market-ready condition.

Qualifications

• One year related experience.
• HVAC/EPA Certification preferred.
• Proficiency with various hand and power tools.
• Experience with appliance, electrical, drywall, and/or plumbing repairs.
• Ability to work flexible work schedules including on-call rotations, after hours, and weekends when needed.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds, common areas, and apartments; deliver prompt service with respect.
• Comply with OSHA and health/safety policies; report unsafe activities or incidents.
• Assist with expense control by fixing rather than replacing.
• Prepare vacant units for occupancy using Market-Ready Inspection form.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Maintain pool area.
• Complete service requests efficiently.
• Conduct daily property walks and remove litter, debris, and pet waste.
• Remove snow/ice from walkways, sidewalks, and parking lots.
• Assist Service Manager with shop and supply inventories within budget.
• Deliver consistent excellent customer service yielding positive ratings.
