Job summary

The Community Builders, Inc. seeks a Senior Manager for Community Life in Boston to lead activities across Dorchester properties and our neighborhood food pantry. You will supervise a small team, partner with residents and stakeholders, and drive programs aligned with housing stability, education, and mobility.

Qualifications

  • Experience building partnerships with social service providers and organizations.
  • Demonstrated management/supervision ability and ability to motivate site staff and partners.
  • Experience using data and evaluations to inform practice and design.
  • Experience engaging with residents from diverse backgrounds in housing stabilization.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (oral and written) required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage development and implementation of the Community Life CSP and annual workplan.
  • Supervise CL Service Coordinators, interns, and volunteers; oversee food pantry operations.
  • Report progress and manage CL activities ensuring high-quality, resident-centered approaches.
  • Support residents facing housing instability by connecting to reliable resources.
  • Coordinate biennial CLQ data collection from residents across sites.
  • Collaborate with property management to assess issues and provide referrals.
  • Develop partnerships with local providers focused on housing stability, education, mobility, health, and leadership.
  • Provide move-in orientations and staffing guidance for CL operations.
  • Manage administrative tasks including MOUs and petty cash reconciliation.
  • Ensure data input for all CL staff in CL Connect; track grant deliverables and budgets.
  • Participate in professional development and share best practices.
  • Coordinate with Boston-based staff and attend bi-monthly managers meetings.
  • Prioritize tasks and communicate needs for support.
