Job summary

The Heath Free Town Library invites applications for a resourceful Library Director to guide a small, rural library into the future with innovative programs and services. You will oversee administration, collection development, staff supervision, IT and information services, and financial reporting to the Library Trustees, while maintaining our open, friendly atmosphere.

The role is about 25 hours weekly, with some evenings and Saturdays, and requires regular attendance at training and Board

Qualifications

• BA or BS or ALA accredited MLS or MLIS; certification if no MLS/MLIS.
• Familiarity with C/W MARS and Sitka Evergreen ILS.

Responsibilities

• Administration and operation of the library.
• Collection development and maintenance; staff supervision.
• Information and IT services; monthly financial reporting to Trustees.
• Maintain open, friendly atmosphere; support community programs.
• Attend training workshops and Board of Trustees meetings.
