The Whittemore Public Library is seeking a part-time Library Director (18-26 hours weekly) to manage day-to-day operations with the aid of the Assistant Director and Library Clerk. The role includes planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating all library activities, and serving as the primary public representative.
Responsibilities also include attending Board meetings, reporting statistics, drafting budgets and policies, ensuring compliance with laws, and maintaining fund allocations.
The Whittemore Public Library is seeking an individual to serve as a part-time (18-26 hrs weekly) “Library Director” to manage the day-to-day operations of the facility. The ideal candidate is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating all activities of the Library, with the aid of the Assistant Director and Library Clerk. This person also directs library services including the formation and implementation of policies, long-range goals and objectives; attends Board of Trustee meetings, reports on library statistics, and helps draft/implement operational policies; prepares and submits annual budgets and reports, manages fund allocations, track financial reports; and ensures compliance with local and state laws. Acts as the primary public representative for the Whittemore Public Library.
An essential, important skill of this job is possessing excellent telephone skills and working daily with the public (and sometimes difficult people). Position open until filled. Salary dependent upon experience.
