Job summary

Louisiana Behavioral Health, a partnership between Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and Oceans Healthcare, seeks a Community Liaison to develop and maintain relationships with referral sources, increasing utilization of hospital services. The CL will perform mobile assessments and engage rural areas to educate facilities and the community.

The role emphasizes planning education strategies, coordinating monthly reports, and promoting clinic services to support Adult and Gerpsychiatry Unit programs

• Assists in planning and implementing education strategies and in maintaining monthly department reports.
• Analyzes marketing data to develop strategies.
• Reports to team members information affecting community education efforts.

Job description

Louisiana Behavioral Health is a partnership between Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and Oceans Healthcare, two Louisiana-based providers leading the transformation of behavioral health care through evidence-based, patient-centered treatment for adolescents, adults and seniors.

The Community Liaison (CL) is responsible for implementing the daily duties within the Community Education Plan that will provide for the establishment and maintenance of long-term community relationships with referral sources, resulting in increased utilization of hospital services. All duties to be done in accordance with Joint Commission, Federal and State regulations, Oceans' Mission, policies and procedures and Performance Improvement Standards.

Essential Functions:

1. Builds relationships with community professionals to generate referrals to Adult and/or Geriatric Psychiatry Unit Program.

6. Assists the Director in the planning and implementation of education strategies.
7. Assists in maintaining monthly reports for department (e.g. Contact Lists, Reference Logs, Newsletters, Fax Outs, Follow-up Calls, Physician Expense Reports, etc.).
8. Analyzes marketing data to develop strategies.
9. Reports to team members information affecting community education efforts.
10. Performs any other duties and projects as assigned.
