JOB PURPOSE:

The Community Outreach Liaison is responsible for engaging with local service providers and community members. They establish and maintain partnerships with external stakeholders, including federal, state, and local agencies, to understand concerns and gather information for drafting recommendations to improve shelter service delivery.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establish and maintain partnerships with external stakeholders and government agencies to understand concerns and improve shelter services.
• Disseminate information about resources and referrals of programs.
• Organize and conduct community events, workshops, seminars, and meetings to promote community participation. Represent Endeavors at community events.
• Coordinate and lead classes and workshops on Life Skills, engaging community members and securing presenters when needed.
• Submit data to Salesforce and other platforms, continuously improving outreach processes and administrative duties.
• Prepare written reports on plans, projects, and outcomes.
• Coordinate homelessness-related activities with local government and community organizations.
• Respond courteously to residents' concerns and inquiries.
• Represent shelters in Austin (Northbridge and Marshalling Yard) at city meetings.
• Maintain good relationships with organizations, community members, and clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service, prioritizing clients to support our mission to empower people to build better lives.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred, with at least 2 years' experience in life skills and outreach.
• Experience: Two years' experience working with unhoused populations, support groups, peer mentoring, or life skills. Outgoing and professional demeanor, with ability to create community contacts and deliver informative presentations. Social service experience is a plus.
• Attendance: Maintain regular and acceptable attendance as determined by the employer.
• Licenses: Valid Driver's License with a clear record.
• Vehicle: Daily access to a vehicle without prior notice.
• Other: Willingness to travel as needed; must not pose safety risks.
