Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare food for the on-site Sunday and holiday lunch program. You will keep the kitchen clean, manage inventory, create menus, and help with food distribution alongside volunteers.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year of cooking experience preferred, knowledge of safe food handling, and current ServSafe Kitchen Manager certification (or obtain within 2 months). Proficiency with MS Office 365, Teams and SharePoint is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1+ years' professional cooking experience preferred.
• Current ServSafe Kitchen Manager certification or ability to obtain within 2 months of hire.
• Complete Safe From Harm training and keep current as needed.
• Must have and maintain a current valid driver’s license and pass the Salvation Army MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for lunch program on Sundays and holidays.
• Maintain the kitchen’s orderliness and cleanliness.
• Assist with food distribution biweekly.
• Adhere to ServSafe food handling regulations.
• Record and store food orders and deliveries.
• Work with volunteers assigned to the kitchen.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
