Job summary

The Coalition For The Homeless of Central Florida, Inc is seeking a part-time Food Services Cook to prepare and cook a variety of dishes for guests and community programs. The role focuses on safe, nutritious meals, menu planning, and collaborating with volunteers and kitchen staff to meet HCNP requirements and daily meal service goals.

You will ensure food safety, follow recipes, maintain FIFO labeling, and assist with inventory and supply ordering.

Qualifications

• Must have a state-certified food handling certification within 30 days of employment.
• Attend CCFP and HCNP training within 60 days of employment and annually thereafter.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least one year of related cooking/kitchen experience; two years preferred.
• English speaking/writing required for safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes including meals for Coalition guests.
• Ensure all food meets health standards and organization policies.
• Follow recipes to maintain consistency and portion control.
• Label and store leftovers with proper FIFO dates; stock inventory as needed.
• Coordinate with Kitchen Steward and volunteers for smooth meal service.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation per health and safety protocols.
