Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health seeks an Employment Specialist/Job Coach to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities find meaningful community jobs in North Carolina. The role focuses on job development, resume preparation, and interviewing support, coordinating with VR and other agencies.

Travel is required to serve clients in the Wilmington area; a valid NC driver’s license and reliable transportation are essential. This role offers full benefits and PSLF-qualified opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid, unrestricted North Carolina driver’s license and good driving record.
• Willing to travel within the assigned territory to support community-based program.
• Reliable transportation that allows movement throughout the program delivery area.
• Bachelor's degree in human services or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Create connections with community employers to identify and create job opportunities.
• Develop resumes and accompany individuals to job interviews; assist with applications.
• Maintain weekly communication with caseload and document it in the EMR.
• Lead primary job development activities for the program.
• Maintain case records per licensing and funding standards; document within 24 hours of service.
• Coordinate communication with parents, case managers, and other agencies.
