The Arc Prince George’s County is seeking a Community Companion-Community Integration Specialist to assist individuals in connecting with community activities, manage daily living tasks, and coordinate transportation and support services. The role emphasizes safety, independence, and person-centered planning.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma.
• At least 1 year of related experience working with children or adults in a care-giving setting.
• A good driving record, reliable vehicle, and current Maryland Driver’s license.
• The ability to successfully complete training requirements of The Arc.
• Strong communication skills and demonstrated care-giving skills.

Responsibilities

• Locates and facilitates participation in community and leisure activities, including transportation.
• Provides training and assistance in developing safety and daily living skills to increase independence.
• Encourages individuals to make choices and build relationships outside the home.
• Promotes regular exercise and healthy lifestyles through planning and advocacy.
• Coordinates supports to enable worship and transportation to places of worship when indicated.
• Documents and completes required records and reports clearly and on time.
• Provides training to relief staff and documents training to supervisors.
• Records work hours accurately on timesheets.
