Job summary

SVRC Industries, Inc. seeks a Part-Time direct-support professional to assist individuals with disabilities in community, volunteer, employment, and recreational settings.

You will support independent living and social skills while ensuring safety and dignity, reporting progress to a supervisor and maintaining documentation. Responsibilities include on-site/off-site supervision, learning job site procedures, and implementing service plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with people with disabilities preferred.
• Ability to work with individuals with varying needs.
• CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days.
• Valid Michigan Chauffeur License and ability to operate agency vehicles.
• Criminal history background check and drug screen required.
• Safe driving record and ability to transport participants.
• Defensive driving training completed or pursued.

Responsibilities

• Provide support services to participants in community, volunteer, employment, and recreational settings.
• Build on participant's abilities and strengths based on past experience and observations.
• Provide on-site/off-site supervision of participants as per plan of service.
• Gain knowledge of job site procedures and practices.
• Implement participant service plans, goals, and support strategies.
• Complete required service documentation, progress notes, and transportation records accurately and timely.
• Track and document participant time and attendance.
• Ensure participant health, safety, dignity, and well-being while providing services.
• Support participants in developing independent living, social, communication, and community participation skills.
• Communicate progress, concerns, incidents, and service needs to supervisor promptly.
• Report incidents and safety concerns per policy and timelines.
• Attend and complete required training and certification programs.
