Job summary

The Arc of Spokane is hiring a Community Inclusion Specialist to provide one-on-one support to individuals with developmental disabilities and help them engage with the Spokane community.

The role requires creativity, comfort with community-based work, and the ability to research, plan, and solve problems while offering flexible schedules and meaningful interaction.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Clean 3-year driving record
  • Able to pass required background check
  • Non-profit and community values (preferred)
  • Teamplayer (preferred)
  • Desire to help others succeed (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • One-on-one support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Help participants engage with the Spokane community to expand social connections and relationships.
  • Identify participant interests and skills to plan activities and volunteering opportunities.
  • Assist with activities like volunteering at food banks, attending concerts and dances, crafts clubs, and community events.

The Community Inclusion programpromotes independence and inclusion for its participants and is currentlyhiring for a Community Inclusion Specialist. Community Inclusion Specialistsenjoy flexible schedules and working in a fun and creative environment. CI Specialistsprovide one-one-one support to individuals and help participants activelyengage with the Spokane community in order to expand their social connectionsand build meaningful relationships. The ideal candidate will be creative andcomfortable working one-on-one with participants out in the community, and haveskills in researching, planning, and problem solving.

Through identifying our participants' interests and the skillset that they canoffer their community, you will be able to support them in getting involvedwith activities like:

  • Volunteer work around the community (food banks, local events, animals, etc.)
  • Concertsand dances
  • Craftsand interest-based clubs
  • Religiousgroups and events
  • Communityand neighborhood events and festivals and much, much more.

Requirements:

Compensation: $19.00 per hour, Non-exempt, Full-time 40hours per week. Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, 13 Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Life Insurance andPaid Time Off (PTO) after eligibility period.

*All pay isbased on longevity at The Arc of Spokane; thus,the starting pay forthis position is $19.00 per hour.
