Job summary

Goodwill Southwest Florida seeks a Community Relations & Events Manager to lead volunteer engagement, community partnerships, and event planning. You will develop and manage recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and recognition programs while coordinating events and producing content to highlight the organization’s impact.

The role requires strong communication, relationship-building, and project management skills, with a focus on growing volunteer participation and expanding community outreach

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in communications, PR, marketing, nonprofit management, or related field.
• Three years of experience in community engagement, volunteer management, nonprofit outreach, communications, events, PR, or related field.
• Volunteer recruitment, coordination, or program development experience strongly preferred.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, organizational, and project management skills.
• Knowledge of volunteer management, community outreach, event coordination, social media management, and content creation.
• Strong storytelling and written communication skills.
• Photography and basic video creation skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and growth of volunteer engagement program.
• Manage volunteer recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, communication, recognition, and stewardship.
• Build relationships with volunteers, businesses, schools, and community groups.
• Coordinate volunteer participation for programs, events, and community initiatives.
• Track participation and impact metrics to improve retention and engagement.
• Assist in planning, promotion, and execution of events.
• Oversee event registration, attendee communication, and volunteer assignments.
• Create content highlighting Goodwill's programs and community impact.
• Support digital campaigns to raise awareness and attendance.
• Maintain photo/video/content libraries and monitor engagement.
