Job summary

Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles seeks a senior administrator to lead community engagement within the Community Affairs Department. The role coordinates outreach with other departments and external partners to inform residents and stakeholders about HACLA activities and initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in communications or related field and at least five years in public outreach with supervisory experience, plus deep knowledge of HUD programs and resident rights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a closely related field.
• Five (5) years of experience in public outreach, economic development, or community engagement.
• Two (2) years of supervision or leadership responsibility.
• Knowledge of HUD programs and residents’ rights.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manages a community engagement program informing residents and stakeholders of local issues and HACLA activities.
• Collaborates with internal and external partners to plan, develop, and implement outreach work.
• Promotes HACLA’s mission with community leaders, businesses, and neighborhood associations.
• Conducts research and evaluations to support public information strategies and tactics.
• Serves as a primary point of contact for community members and oversees staff.
