Job summary

Embrace Living Communities in Downers Grove, IL, seeks a Housekeeper I to maintain cleanliness of public and common areas, clean vacant units prior to move-in, and support a welcoming living environment for residents.

Responsibilities include disinfecting, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, light maintenance, and reporting safety concerns. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and basic computer skills. This is an hourly, non-exempt role.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience - High School diploma or GED.
• Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents and other team members.
• Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Responsibilities

• Creates a respectful living environment aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and values.

• Supports a wellness culture that encourages active aging and living well.
• Cleans, disinfects, sweeps, mops, scrubs, dusts, vacuums, washes, polishes, and wipes surfaces in common areas.
• Cleans vacant apartments after move-out and assists in routine maintenance prior to move-in.
• Performs light maintenance duties such as replacing batteries as needed.
• Reports damage or safety concerns to management and maintenance.
• Maintains safety data sheets and adheres to OSHA safety requirements.
• Maintains an inventory of supplies.
• Works cooperatively with team members to maintain high standards cost-effectively.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
