Position Summary

The Community Hospital Registration Associate advances the revenue cycle process for services rendered within a community hospital setting, both inpatient and outpatient. Responsibilities include securing all necessary information for accurate patient pre-registration and registration, converting visits within the billing system, verifying insurance and benefits, and reviewing regulatory requirements for various hospital services.

Registration Associates at Lancaster Medical Center register patients across departments such as Emergency, Surgery, Endoscopy, Radiology, and Laboratory. They are trained across departments to ensure comprehensive service. As the initial point of contact, they deliver exceptional customer service, treating patients with respect, dignity, and kindness. Growth opportunities include continuing education and internal transfers within Penn State Health.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least six months of customer service experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical terminology and Revenue Cycle experience
  • Medical health insurance knowledge
  • Medical billing and coding experience
