The role includes directing daily programming, supervising staff, coordinating health appointments, and ensuring compliance with policies and budgets.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, CMA within two years, and 3 years of direct care with supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
• CMA certification within two years of starting the home director position.
• Three years direct support experience with some supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate well in written and oral forms.
• Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Directs the overall operations and programming of one community home.
• Oversees the work performance of all direct care staff.
• Create and maintain a staff schedule; publish timely.
• Collect and submit appropriate payroll documentation.
• Complete annual performance evaluations.
• Ensure policies and regulations are followed; manage discipline as needed.
• Conduct staff meetings and provide trainings.
• Ensure health and welfare of individuals served; schedule medical appointments.
• Advocate for individuals’ rights; schedule activities.
• Maintain fire and evacuation procedures and train accordingly.
• Enhance quality of life for individuals served.
• Participate in staff recruitment, placement and training.
• Manage care and maintenance of buildings and grounds; vehicle upkeep.
• Oversee finances within budget; process invoices; monitor petty cash.
• Maintain inventories and monitor utilities to control costs.
• Ensure compliance with standards for annual surveys; prepare required documents.
• Maintain relationships with families and act as a role model.
• Follow Evergreen policies; perform other duties as assigned.
