Job summary

Community Health Action of Staten Island (CHASI) provides HIV, Hepatitis C (HCV), and STI testing services to at-risk individuals, with education on condom use and linkage to care. The role requires flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends.

The Community Testing Specialist sits in Prevention & Intervention, coordinates referrals, and conducts community-based education and risk reduction activities. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in outreach or social services.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of HIV or HCV pre/post Test Counseling and phlebotomy preferred; training available.

Responsibilities

• Provide HIV, HCV, and STI counseling and testing.
• Conduct outreach and recruitment for testing services.
• Provide referrals, linkage, and navigation to medical or social services.
• Escort clients and follow up on referrals to ensure completion.
• Report weekly numbers and maintain data entry as required.
