Full-time (37.5 hours per week) position. The starting time for this position is 8:30 a.m.
Assists clients for Medicaid enrollment and other government funded programs. Schedules appointments and provides care coordination. Provides interpretation services for Spanish speaking clients at the clinic, over the phone and the home. Translates written materials into Spanish. Advocates for clients and make referrals as needed.
Required Education and Experience High school diploma (or GED) One (1) year of experience in Community Health and Human Services
Required Licenses or Certifications Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and operable, insured automobile for authorized travel
Knowledge of: Maternal/child health and social services systems and programs Medicaid process Principles and practices of basic bookkeeping Modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment
Skill in: Organization Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships Performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature Performing basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios
Ability to: Maintain complete and accurate records Identify high risk clients in clinic and community Effectively speak, write and understand the English language Meet schedules and deadlines of the work Understand and carry out oral and written directions Accurately organize and maintain paper documents and electronic files Maintain the confidentiality of information and professional boundaries
