AmeriCorps is seeking a Community Health & Wellbeing VISTA in South Carolina to develop programs that expand access to mental and physical health resources. Job description

Create separate mental-health and physical-health objectives; develop nonclinical partner networks, resource maps, outreach and event playbooks, community-health ambassador systems, partner-led access pathways, outcome measures, program-specific funding inputs, communications support, procedures, and handoff.

Member Duties

The Community Health VISTA will develop programs and systems that improve access to mental and physical health resources in the community. They will identify community needs, establish separate mental and physical health objectives, and build partnerships with local organizations and nonclinical service providers. The VISTA will create resource maps and referral pathways to help residents connect with available services, as well as outreach strategies, community health events, and tools for engaging residents. They will develop a Community Health Ambassador program to expand health education and resource awareness within neighborhoods. The VISTA will also establish measures to track program outcomes, identify funding needs and opportunities, support health-related communications, and create procedures and handoff materials to ensure the programs can be sustained and expanded over time.
