Job summary

Sea Mar Community Health Centers seeks a Health Educator I to provide quality health education services to patients and staff, and to engage with community groups to increase access to Sea Mar’s services. The role emphasizes preventive care and collaboration with medical providers.

The incumbent will work to meet productivity goals, develop curricula, and maintain current educational materials, while supporting Sea Mar’s mission of equitable care for diverse populations in Washington state.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Health Education, Public Health, Nursing, Education, Nutrition, or related field; or 5+ years of relevant health education experience.
• Experience in patient counseling, educating groups and developing curricula/materials.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification and TB screening/Covid vaccine requirements as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assess health education needs of target population and provide education in key areas.
• Design, promote, present and evaluate community health sessions.
• Develop relationships with local health/educational providers.
• Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings; submit reports.
• Review/update health education materials; create pamphlets when needed.
• May conduct blood pressure screenings and community garden activities.
• Chart notes in Electronic Health Records (EHR).
