Job summary

Volunteers of America Utah is seeking staff to assist in Creekside Stabilization Center food preparation and service operations. Candidates will follow food safety procedures, assist with meal prep, transport and serve meals, and maintain a clean work area.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a Food Handler permit, and prior food service experience. CPR/First Aid certification and a clean driving record are preferred. This is a full-time position at VOA Utah.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED and Food Handlers permit.
• Must have some experience in food service work, or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, pots and pans.
• Stack dishes, cups, and silverware.
• Remove trash.
• Sweep and mop the floor.
• Perform deep cleaning as scheduled and as necessary.
• Set up and maintain food items.
• Check and record food temperatures at required intervals.
• Maintain cleanliness and follow proper food safety protocol and procedures.
• Operate and clean kitchen machines/appliances.
• Assist with meal preparation including food prep and plating.
• Transport meals to Creekside that have been prepped offsite.
• Serve food in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Unload, organize, and store food from donations, orders, and deliveries.
• Attend work regularly and on time.
• Perform other functions as necessary.
