Job summary

URBAN MUSLIM MINORITY ALLIANCE is seeking a Harvest Market Associate to support day-to-day operations of the food distribution program. You will check in clients, stock inventory, and ensure a respectful environment for all visitors.

The role requires comfort with tablets, physical lifting up to 30 pounds, and teamwork. The position is in-person at UMMA's Harvest Market with variable weekday mornings, afternoons, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills (comfortable using a tablet or check-in software).
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Strong people skills, patience, and compassion.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• Bilingual (especially Spanish) is a plus.
• Previous customer service or food distribution experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients using a simple digital system.
• Assist with unloading, stocking, and organizing food and supplies.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
• Support crowd flow and answer questions from clients.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Report any issues or needs to the Program Manager or Director of Operations & Programs.
• Other duties as assigned to support program success.
