Job summary

GBMC Health Partners at Jonestown, part of GBMC Health Partners, seeks an experienced physician to join our established Primary Care Practice in Baltimore City. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the area, trusted by the community, and dedicated to improving patient health and wellbeing.

Under general supervision, you will manage initial evaluation and treatment, document care in the electronic medical record, and collaborate with staff and specialists to provide comprehensive care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical program.
• Licensed as a physician in the State of Maryland.
• Board Certified by the appropriate board consistent with the physician's specialty.
• Need to decide on CPR

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for the initial evaluation and treatment of patients in assigned areas.
• Performs initial history and physical and documents in the Electronic Medical Record.
• Writes standard orders in accordance with hospital policy.
• Discusses findings with provider colleagues and staff as necessary.
• Evaluates patient progress and adjusts treatment as needed.
• Initiates referrals to ancillary departments and community resources.
• Writes progress notes and treatment plans for each visit.
• Establishes medical diagnoses in compliance with contract.
• Refers acute or life-threatening conditions to emergency or specialist as needed.
• Plans home care instructions with patient and family.
