Job summary

The Allentown Parking Authority is seeking a Customer Service Representative to serve residents, visitors, and businesses with empathy and accuracy. You will handle payments, issue permits, answer inquiries, and maintain records, while guiding customers through permit processes and resolving issues.

You will work in a team, represent the Authority in the community, and uphold fairness and professionalism. Must have a high school diploma, valid PA driver’s license, and prior customer service

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• PA driver’s license is required.
• Ability to sit/stand for long periods.
• Experience in customer service or community relations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as an ambassador, educate the public on parking regulations and benefits to the community.
• Assist with payments, permits, and inquiries at the front window and over the phone.
• Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in person with empathy and efficiency.
• Maintain records of transactions, citations, and interactions with the public.
• Guide customers through permit applications and ensure documentation is complete.
• Support parking operations and coordinate with other departments.
• Handle conflicts tactfully to de-escalate situations.
