Job summary

YMCA San Antonio is seeking a dedicated housekeeper to help keep our facilities clean and welcoming. The role involves mopping, dusting, trash removal, window washing, and general upkeep according to the daily schedule.

You will operate cleaning equipment, assist with event setup, and ensure safety and security of the building during your shift, while reporting maintenance needs and replenishing supplies as needed.

Qualifications

• Six months or more of related experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
• Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
• Certifications required within the first week of hire: Redwoods Bloodborne Pathogens and Hazardous Communications
• Certifications required within the first 60 days of hire: YMCA approved basic life saving skills such as CPR, First Aid, AED, and Emergency Oxygen.

Responsibilities

• Ensures Y is attractive and clean by completing the daily schedule and maintaining the assigned area and equipment.
• Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
• Records and reports all needed repairs; repairs as directed.
• Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shift and reports incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Replaces soap, paper towels, and other supplies.
• May set up furniture for events.
• Other duties as assigned.
