Job summary

YMCA of Youngstown is seeking a dedicated janitorial worker to support the cleaning and sanitizing of assigned areas, including locker rooms. The role involves mopping, dusting, trash removal, window washing, laundry, and event setup.

Responsibilities include operating cleaning equipment, reporting repairs, restocking supplies, and maintaining security during shifts while delivering quality member service. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of janitorial or facilities housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures and manuals.
• Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safe chemical usage.
• Basic understanding of upkeep and care of facility equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize assigned areas including general areas and locker rooms.
• Perform mopping, dusting, trash removal, window washing, laundry and setup for events.
• Operate related motorized and non-motorized cleaning equipment.
• Record and report needed repairs; perform repairs as directed.
• Ensure security of the building during shifts and replenish supplies.
• Set up furniture and staff events as needed; maintain member service during duties.
