Job summary

Canton Township is seeking a Facility Assistant at Summit on the Park. This part-time role supports front-line supervision, customer service, and staff assistance at multiple facilities.

Shifts include afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays with a pay rate of $16.80 per hour. Responsibilities include guest relations, safety, program setup, and coordination with the Health & Wellness Recreation Specialist.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• Must obtain CPR/AED and first aid certification within 30 days of employment.
• Previous experience dealing with the public in a mature and responsible manner.
• Previous community center or facility operation experience preferred.
• Knowledgeable about Summit on the Park programs and Parks, Recreation & Community Services.
• Ability to lift and carry tables/chairs and perform setup; manual labor for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Supervise overall operation of the Community Center.
• Maintain security and communicate with local law enforcement as needed.
• Maintain daily attendance and incident reports.
• Perform custodial/maintenance tasks (sweeping, mopping, cleaning).
• Handle conflicts with guests as frontline staff.
• Promote facility and maintain public relations with patrons.
• Set up and tear down programs as scheduled.
• Respond to emergencies and communicate procedures clearly.
