Job summary

Buffalo City Mission is seeking a Manager, Volunteers & Community Engagement to lead volunteer programs and partner with community groups across our Buffalo, NY locations. The role focuses on organizing events, donor relations, and recognition activities to strengthen community impact.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 3 years of volunteer coordination or public relations experience, with strong communication and organizational skills and

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in volunteer coordination, community organizing, public relations, or relationship management—ideally within a non-profit or ministry environment.
• Strong time management and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Evening and weekend availability to support events.

Responsibilities

• Oversees volunteers and group events across Mission facilities.
• Manages annual Volunteer and Staff Appreciation Program and donor recognition activities.
• Maintains the volunteer database and supports donation drives and event communications.
• Coordinates collection drives and in-kind donations throughout the year.
