Job summary

Jewish Senior Life in West Bloomfield, MI, is seeking an experienced Volunteer & Community Engagement Manager to lead the organization's volunteer programs across campuses. You will recruit, screen, engage, and retain volunteers, while coordinating community events and fundraising activities to support resident programs.

Working closely with Development, Life Enrichment, campus leadership, and partners, you will build relationships with residents, families, donors, and volunteers, ensuring

Qualifications

• Proven experience in volunteer management, community engagement, or social work.
• Excellent written communication for reports and outreach.
• Ability to work with culturally diverse communities.
• Experience with Raiser's Edge or similar database tools.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Supervisory experience and event coordination abilities.
• Public speaking for community events and recruitment drives.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Lead volunteer programs across campuses, including recruitment and retention.
• Partner with Life Enrichment and other departments to match volunteers with opportunities.
• Maintain volunteer records and develop outreach strategies.
• Manage two onsite boutiques, including purchasing and inventory.
• Coordinate volunteer committees and events.
• Support fundraising activities and donor communications.
• Build relationships with volunteers, donors, residents, families, and partners.
• Represent JSL at volunteer, community, and fundraising events.
• Collaborate with communications to share resident and program stories.
